SUBTITLED : ` The Etchings of Irene Klar '. The artist represented in this 87 page monograph lives in Edmonton, Alberta. The theme explored here is First Nations women. LEARN more about : Tribal Grounds, protective goops, Two Gray Hills, Denman Street, texture, zinc plate, texture, West End Gallery, pattern, abalone, and step-bite aquatint. Author has signed the first page. Cond : Paper wrapper (with french flaps) is a patterned yellow-green colour. The etching shown on the cover is called `Cedar Passage '. Volume is clean and crisp and bright. No names, creases, nor tears. Decidely collectible !! QUote (p. 16) :" Serendipity certainly has a place in etching. Etching onto a metal plate to create an image involves both physical and chemical actions. I use zinc for my plate and nitric acid as the mordant. It is helpful to think of etched glass in otder to understand etching. Lines are made in the ._._._. . " Size: 4to.
