Internally very good, with corners bumped, moderate foxing and other wear typical of books from this period. 708, [20] pp. This copy does not include the errata slip which was included in some copies, but the error on page 538, "No. 507" has been corrected. DeRenne 346-347 contains an extensive history of the printing of this book. The laws, arranged by session and numbered, contain many significant enactments, including procedures for manumissions, regulation of Free Negroes and slaves, removal of the attaint of treason from Josiah Tattnall Sr. (signed by Governor Josiah Tattnall, Jr.), Georgia's boundary settlement, the Yazoo Land Claims, and the Creek bribery and corruption that accompanied the transfer of Georgia lands to the Yazoo Company in 1795. Many laws here are signed in type by David Emanuel as President of the Senate. Emanuel had earlier served briefly as Governor of Georgia in 1801, which had made him the first Jewish Governor of any state.
