About the Author: Thomas Pyzdek is the author of 13 successful books on quality subjects, and a multimedia Statistical Process Control (SPC) training program on CD-ROM. He has had hundreds of articles and papers published in such journals as The Quality Management Journal, Quality Engineering, and Quality Progress. He is co-editor of the Quality Engineering Handbook. Mr. Pyzdek has been a consultant for quality to many Fortune 500 firms in a wide variety of manufacturing and service industries. He served on the first Board of Examiners For the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and on the Panel of Judges for the Arizona Governor's Award For Quality. Mr. Pyzdek was selected as a new "quality guru" by Quality Digest magazine. Mr. Pyzdek is a recipient of the prestigious Edwards Medal and a Fellow of the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) and an ASQC Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Reliability Engineer. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (1975), and masters degrees in Systems Engineering (1982) and Management (1995) from the University of Arizona. He has taught statistics and management at the University of Arizona and the University of Phoenix.
