The 1894 edition was the first scholarly attempt to collect and publish the complete writings of Lincoln. The New and Enlarged Complete Works of Abraham Lincoln was issued in 1905 by the Francis D. Tandy Company. This edition from 1926, The Sponsors' Edition, was published using the plates from the New and Enlarged work, with an introduction by the Chancellor of Lincoln Memorial University.
