In 2003 a friend of mine from Georgia compiled a cookbook for the Georgia Bulldog fans. Alex Hawkins played halfback for the Gamecocks in the 1956, 1957, and 1958 seasons, finishing his college career with 1,490 rushing yards—ranking twenty-first on the all-time best USC list—and with the title of 1958 ACC Player of the Year. In the NFL he played for the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Colts, and Atlanta Falcons before retiring from the game in 1968. He was inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1970. His past books include My Story and I’m Sticking to It.

Charlie Hawkins has been married to Alex for seven years. She has contributed twenty recipes to this new volume.
