Yves Peyr , in addition to being a leading French poet, is Director of the Biblioth que litt raire Jacques Doucet, the French government's library of first editions, manuscripts, and publications of modern French literature. Artist Ray Rice is the father of the printer, Felicia Rice. He spent over fifty years on the modern American art scene as a painter, mosaicist and animator of experimental films. Folio (10 x 15"). [36] leaves, printed on Fabriano Artistico paper, on one side only, and folded accordion style, in white pictorial wrappers, with glassine. Parallel English and French texts. Pochoir colored illustrations on each page and on the cover. As new in publisher's plain paper slipcase. One of twelve copies hand-painted by the artist, out of a total edition of ninety-six copies. The remaining copies were colored by pochoir. Signed by the printer and the translator and initialed "rR." The illustrator, Ray Rice, died in 2001. Seller Inventory # 14412

Our office is located in Los Angeles on West Third Street, between the Beverly Center and Farmer's Market. Though we gave up an open shop after more than thirty years, we welcome serious customers and dealers. We are normally open from 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday. Since some of our less expensive books are located in a temperature-controlled storage area offsite, you may want to call ahead of time to insure that the book you want to see will be available.
