WINCHESTER, Elhanan. A Course of Lectures on the Prophecies That Remain to Be Fulfilled. Walpole, NH: Printed for Thomas & Thomas by David Carlisle, 1800. 2 vols. 524; 525pp. Folding frontis. map in vol. 1. Contemporary tree leather, spines ruled in gilt, black leather spine labels. Both spines with repairs and glued into binding; vol. 2 hence quite tight. Mid-19th century bookplates of the Ministerial Library in Peterboro (NH) in both vols. Vol. 2 lacks front flyleaf; toning in both vols., else very good. Evans 39117. ESTC W37634. The folding map shows a view of the world inset into a map of the Land of Canaan divided for the tribes of Israel; it is signed "A. Doolittle 1800." Some copies listed on ESTC note a portrait in vol. 2, but the map is uncommon. Winchester (1751-1797) was a Baptist and later Universalist preacher who held numerous pulpits in the United States and in London.
