THEODORE FREEMAN (1930-1964). Freeman was a NASA astronaut and test pilot who was killed in a jet crash; he was the first astronaut to die.Signed cover. March 23, 1965. A cover signed Ted Freeman Captain, USAF. The cachet honors the first manned Gemini flight (obviously it was cancelled after his death). According to the website CollectSpace.com, Freemans autograph is seldom seen.
