Green cover. The author's inscription and signature as Vera B. Underhill are on the front endpaper. Twelve chapters; b/w photos and other illustrations; 6 plates of color illustrations. Nine pages have ink markings on a margin or ink underlining. The color is rubbed from the top and bottom edges of the spine strip and from the boards' corners. Four page margins each have a small, darkened spot cause by something that was laid-in. The dust jacket is in 5 pieces; each piece's edges has closed tears and chips. The dust jacket is laid-in.
