Item description from seller

Broadside circular, printed on the Club's letterhead, 28 x 21 cm. A one page printed circular reminding subscribers of their obligations toward funding the purchase of the right-of-way and terminal grounds for the extension of the Frisco Railroad to Denison. A list of the officers and directors of the Club is printed on the letterhead. This copy directed in manuscript to Mrs. M.E. Walker, noting her pledge (in ink) of $200. The greeting of "Dear Sir" has been crossed out to read "Dear Madam." The Denison Commercial Club had successfully negotiated with the Frisco Railroad to build a line into Denison and make its terminus there, and had raised subscriptions to defray some of the costs to the city and the contract with Messrs. Johnston Bros. & Faught who were building the road. Circular signed in type by G.L. Blackford, C.S. Cobb, and Hiram Brooks, Trustees. Old fold lines, a bit rumpled at the corners, else a very good copy.
