Dallas Doc All the City and Country Critters in the Life of a Texas-Style Vet (Signed)

A native Texan and veterinarian, chronicles an ongoing thirty-five year 'never-a-dull-moment' practice in Dallas by reliving his adventures with an inimitable array of pet owners and their beloved animal companions. His genuine, down-home portrayal of the highs and lows behind practicing modern medicine, depicts both the legendary ranch life of the Old West - where time has stood still - and today's contemporary life of the city. The stories, originally written as personal memoirs for his family, have now become a five-book collection of Doc's day-to-day experiences with his critter-clients. In this first of the series, Doc shares his beginnings and introduces us to his 'daredevil' partner, Rich Vest, irreplaceable assistants, Rachel and Tracy, and his infamous cattle-gored truck 'Ol Blue' - as well as A.J, the horse trader, Big Bertha, the 'guard pig' and a pair of honky-tonk armadillos who 'drink too much'.

David Carlton, D.V.M., received his Doctorate from Texas A&M, and, during the past three decades, has owned five veterinary hospitals. He writes articles on animal health care, and is a regular speaker and entertainer for corporate groups, schools, and western events. He continues to practice as a surgeon and consultant for clinics in Dallas.
