Dancing in the Dark : The Shadow Side of Intimate Relationships

Two leading relationship counselors write about how to achieve passion, romance, and intimacy.

Shadow work is not for the fainthearted. It involves seeing and taking responsibility for one's "dark side," the part of each of person that contains envy, greed, and the ability to abuse one's self as well as others. But unless couples acknowledge and learn to bridle their shadow side, growth and true love is stifled, say coauthors and cotherapists Douglas and Naomi Moseley, who are also husband and wife. If shadows remain hidden and denied, they will sabotage love, and will cause deception, guilt, blame, and disillusionment to take over. Dancing in the Dark reads like a map, guiding couples to intimacy.
