Small4to, frontispiece, x, 82 p. 51 ilustrations by Hugh Thomson. Superb dark blue full morocco, five raised bands, triple gilt rule around both boards, all edges gilt, lettered gilt, by Ramage of London. Small ding to the foreedge of both covers, foxing to the front endpapers otherwise a fine copy inscribed on the half-title "To Miss Brown with Hugh Thomson's kindest regards 1887". The original blue cloth, gilt front cover and backstrip are neatly bound in at the end. The title also states: A Reprint from ''The Spectator''. Books inscribed by Hugh Thomson are very scarce.
