Also on the front cover is a pasted in typed note reading "this reprint was one of two hundred copies of the same paper which were in the S. S. 'Parisian' when she sank at the dock in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in March last. Hence the condition in which the recipient finds it. The author regrets that he has not one undamaged copy at his disposal". The "damage" consists of wrippling around the edges.
