There are four types of dreamscape: composite dreamscapes are a combination of two unrelated images; mirror dreampscapes are made by flipping a copy of an image and superimposing it on the original; surreal dreamscapes combine an in-focus image with an out-of-focus image of the same scene; and cross dreamscapes combine a vertical image with a horizontal one to produce a square image. Each of these combinations produces unexpected and often incredibly moving results.
In clear, easy-to-understand language, Gallant explains how to create each type of dreamscape, either using slides or working on-screen, and gives tips on the exposure settings you'll need when shooting photographs for dreamscapes. The sample montages in each chapter demonstrate how the techniques work, to help you begin your own explorations.
Far from just a technical manual, this inspirational, one-of-a-kind book deserves pride of place in every art lover's home.
