[1905], per institutional copies. Pictorial boards with cloth spine, corner and edge wear, repaired break to top corner of lower cover, occasional finger soil, but clean overall. Animal tales told in verse by Clifton Bingham under his pseudonym Cockiolly Bird illustrated by Harry B Neilson. There are 64 pages printed in color, with either a chapter head or endpiece, red intitial or one of 23 full-page plates featuring humanized animals. It's quite a production and this copy is made special by an inscription by Harry Neilson, presumably to his nephew, "With Uncle Hal's Best Love, / Harry B Neilson / 1938." An uncommon book with an uncommon signature. Size: Folio.
