Eden Garden from Wilderness to Paradise.

Eden Garden from Wilderness to paradise. SIGNED By Jim Rolfe. Softback very good condition. PUBLISHER: Eden Society 2000. The gardens on the slopes of Mt Eden would probably not exist. Jim Rolfe, author of Eden Garden: From Wilderness to Paradise, has been associated with the garden for more than a decade and is an authority on camellias. Rolfe said the history of the gardens was requested by the Eden Garden Society. "It's the story about Jack Clark and the contribution he's made to horticulture and particularly to the garden. Nobody else thought it was possible to do it from the old quarry." The story goes back to when Sir Frank Mappin gifted property to the Crown for a Governor-General's residence in Auckland and Prime Minister Sir Keith Holyoake took a look around.
