Full morocco, ornately stamped in gilt on boards and spine, a.e.g.; 4to (9.5x11.5 inches); approx. pp. 150, with numerous tipped-on engravings and lithographs, plus original artwork. Single leaf of autographs bears the signatures of William Wordsworth (Carlisle, March 8, 1843) and Henry W. Longfellow (June 13, 1868), amongst others. This handsome scrapbook opens with a hand-painted ornamental border, in full color, showing two peacocks in a garden -- the most lavish of the original artwork contained herein (4 additional pencil sketches, 4 watercolors), all of it very nicely accomplished. Primarily given to landscapes -- Wales, Jerusalem, Isle of Wight, Yorkshire, Oban, Brussels, Waterloo and more -- it contains nearly 100 lithographs and engravings, many of them in color, or heightened in white.
