Domville had been appointed as Trustees by the Committee named at the last meeting, a Draft Mortgage upon the Company's property to secure the Bond is submitted: Where upon the Following Resolution is passed viz: A Draft Indenture of Mortgage by this Company to Zebedee Ring of St. John in this Province and James William Domville, Colonel of Her Majesty's Royal Regiment of Artillery now at Woolwich in England, purporting to secure an issue of Bonds to the extent of Fifty Thousand Pounds Sterling having been laid before the Meeting: …. A true Extract . The Forgoing is the Copy of the Resolution referred to in the Mortgage hereto annexed ." Signed at the bottom by Francis Hincks, Zebedee Ring and J.W. Domville. The Coldbrook Rolling Mills Company of the Dominion of Canada. Issue of 50,000 (Pounds)-First Mortgage Bonds. The printed pages 1 to 5 contain articles 1 to 15 with pen corrections. The next page (7) is in manuscript with articles 17 to 19 then the final 2 pages (8 & 9) are also in manuscript colour paper seals and signed by Zebedee Ring, James William Domville, James Scovil and John C. Griffin, Justice of the Peace & O'Hara Baynes, Notary Public [Montreal] and dated January 1st, 1876 St. John, N.B. and 31st. March 1876 in Montreal. James Domville (November 29, 1842 July 30, 1921) was a Canadian businessman, militia officer and politician.He was the son of a British major-general, also named James Domville. In 1858 James, Jr., went to Barbados, where his father commanded a regiment. He was educated at the Royal Military Academy and rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel in the New Brunswick militia, commanding the 8th Princess Louise New Brunswick Hussars Cavalry Regiment. Sir Francis Hincks, KCMG, CB, PC was a Canadian businessman, politician, and British colonial administrator. An immigrant from Ireland, he was the Co-Premier of the Province of Canada, Governor of Barbados, Governor of British Guiana and Canadian Minister of Finance." All edges have some wear with a few very small nicks & tears. There is also light creases from folding and the first page has a tear through the middle and the back page has light soiling to one side.
