FREDERICK GUTHRIE (1833-1886). A Scottish scientist, Guthrie discovered cryohydrates. He studied under Bunsen.ALS. 3pp. 3 x 6. 28 Sept 1858. Edinburgh. An autograph letter signed Frederick Guthrie to an unidentified Colonel: On returning to town in the md of last week I found yr letter, & I take the first opportunity I have had of answering it. I am sorry that would be out of my power to attend the meeting. I expect to be working at home withoutto span in the md& I know not how far on in November. If I can get away at that time I am prepared to go away toI regret that but will hope for the future. The letter has light ink ghosting and mounting remnants, but is in fine condition otherwise.
