Christopher Morley (1890 1957) was an American journalist, novelist, essayist and poet. He also produced stage productions for a few years and gave college lectures. This book of more than 1,200 pages, is a collection of much of his best work. This copy is good in light green cloth with dark green titles on the spine and front cover. The covers are faded at the spine and top edge. Slight browning of the endpapers. The unclipped DJ has chipping at the jacket corners and is slightly sun datkened on the jacket spine. Signed by Morley on the ffep. Also signed by the previous owner, Herbert M. Meyer at the top of the half title page. Laid in is a Christmas card signed and dated 1930 from the author to the owner. Herbert Marx Meyer(1903-1988) was a noted Detroit book collector who assembled a large collection of early 20th century literature. He corresponded with many of the authors of the time, and thus many of his books bear friendly and warm authorial inscriptions. . PO25.
