Synopsis
When the early morning peace is shattered in the quiet suburban community of Valley Stream, New York, the fire department is dispatched to what appears to be a routine car fire. Shortly after their arrival, Al Petrone Jr., the son of the Chief of the department and a firefighter at the scene, is the first person to discover the woman in the back seat of the burning car. The woman who lay dead-mouth taped and hands bound together behind her back-was his neighbor Brenda Keegan.But Al has a dark secret that he doesn't want to disclose, especially to Detective John Lowery, a seasoned 30-year member of the Nassau County Homicide squad and the lead detective called to the scene. Raymond Tanza is a freelance writer who enjoys writing narrative essays as well as poetry. His recent work, "The story." was published in "Across the Way: Countryside," a compilation of poetry. "Fire in the Night" is his first novel, and he is excited to share it with you. A 34-year member of the Valley Stream volunteer fire department, Raymond is a retired deputy sheriff sergeant, with 24 years of law enforcement experience. Ray has four children and three grandchildren, and currently lives in New York.
