Signed by author, war memoir, retrospective. One of the classic first-person memoirs of the Rhodesian Bush War, written by former Rhodesian Light Infantry officer Chris Cocks. The author recounts Fireforce operations, airborne assaults, pseudo operations, and counterinsurgency campaigns against ZANLA and ZIPRA guerrillas during the final years of Rhodesia. Regarded as one of the finest soldier memoirs from the conflict, the work combines battlefield detail with reflections on the collapse of Rhodesia and the creation of Zimbabwe. Signed first editions are increasingly difficult to locate and command a premium among collectors of African military history.
