Moose, Wyoming. Western Fisherman's Press. 2008. First Edition. Quarto (10 x 8). 478 pp. including indices. Inscribed and signed by Randall Kaufmann on the title page. More than 300 fly dressers have contributed their flies, and there are thousands of precise color photos showing each fly pattern described in the book; with material lists to dress them. Illustrated by Mike Stidham. The book's a hatchmatcher's nirvana, or nightmare, depending on your point-of-view. In any case, it's clearly appropriate, as The Band sang in "Up On Cripple Creek" years ago, with the lyrics it's "a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one." There are fly patterns for every conceivable circumstance the fly fisher could possibly encounter, and more. The book is bound in black cloth with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. Pictorial dust jacket. A handsome book. Fine in a fine jacket.
