Aus: Gustav Schwab, Das malerische und romantische Deutschland. Wanderungen durch Schwaben (Leipzig: Georg Wigand 1837-38), Bd. 2. Blatt verso mit Montageresten. Im unteren Rand geringe Klebereste. Insgesamt aber guter Zustand.Josef Axmann (1793 Brünn - 1873 Salzburg). Deutscher Stahl- und Kupferstecher. Schüler von Historienmaler Josef Ignaz Weidlich. Ab 1811 Studium an der Wiener Akademie. Erhielt später von den mährischen Ständen ein Stipendium über sechs Jahre. In seiner Ausbildung zum Kupferstecher wurde er von Johann Blaschke und Adam von Bartsch. Darauf war er für diverse Almanache tätig. 1829 erfand er eine neue Technik der Hochätzung von Zink und Kupfer. 1843 beschäftigte er sich gemeinsam mit Josef Berres mit der Aätzung von Daguerrotypien. 1866 übersiedelte er von Wien nach Salzburg.Ludwig Mayer (1791 - 1843).
