This is the story of how a small private team of mainly volunteer enthusiasts re-created the only flying example in the world of the Bristol Blenheim, the derelict remains of which stood through 40 Canadian winters. It tells how, after a painstaking 12-year restoration to "better than new" airworthy condition, it crashed and was destroyed within a month of completion and the team had to start all over again with another delapidated airframe. Also explained is the reason why the team thought the Blenheim too important to be allowed to fade into obscurity.

Review
A classic story of the resurrection of a forgotten aircraft type. The work and skill required to get it to the flying stage is incredible. What a sad moment for the crew to have the thing crash after completing it. But this historic aeroplane will fly again when a new airframe is found. A wonderful read for any enthusiast, and so well illustrated with many details and photographs to bring you into the workshop with the crew. Brilliant. --By J. Williams
I enjoy reading aircraft restoration books and this one is well done. Nice photographic coverage of a rare aircraft. The author has written a much larger book on the Blenheim and its also worth adding to your library. The author documents the saving of one of these rare WW2 bombers and it's crash due to pilot error. --Olga Federkevich
