The Foundation of Leadership : Enduring Principles to Govern Our Lives

The Foundation of Leadership is essential reading for all citizens -- parents, business people, students, teachers, coaches and others -- who want to help America maintain its place in history as the freest, the fairest, the most productive and prosperous nation in the world.

In this book, Bo Short, founder and president of the American Leadership Foundation, uses the compelling histories of five great Americans and comments from his discussions with many of today's elected leaders to show us the enduring qualities of leadership that built our nation. The author describes leadership at its finest, providing both practical and inspirational lessons about what it means to be worthy of our American heritage. As a result, those who read this book will find themselves aspiring to new levels of leadership and success.

The author explores five specific qualities -- vision, courage, perseverance, responsibility and character -- that serve as the foundation of true leadership. These are the hallmark qualities of our Founding Fathers. They are also the same qualities each of us needs to exhibit in our own lives and instill in our children.
