No publication date stated but c1949. Dedication to "Susan and Celia Winder" signed by author on front e/p. Illustrated boards have bumped and chipped corners. Cloth spine has wear to ends. Contents tight with some foxing to e/p's. Front e/p has small closed tears to top and bottom edges. Nice copy. The first publication of 10 stories told by the author in the B.B.C. Children's Hour programmes. These tales are not only true but form a large part of the author's own life story during service with the South African Mounted Police.
