Item description from seller

Mass market paperback (aka "Pocket" book). Minor edgewear and a tiny bit of thumbing to corner. Inscribed and SIGNED on half-title page: "To one great Virginia writer/editor to another, in all mass media modesty, Sam.". The author, former professor of communication studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, "became interested in the communications aspect of vanity plates because he realized that personalized plates 'provide average people a chance to say something original to the rest of us.'." "Here, for the first time, a collection of the best and the very, very worst of the outrageous cunning, sweet and silly messages on U.S. license plates." (from rear panel).
