This lot contains five signed letters addressed to American journalist, Clayton Fritchey. Letters are in Very Good condition with mild creasing, age toning, and wear to edges and corners. CN Consignment. Shelved at Rockville Room A Oversized Ephemera. The first letter is a one-page typed memo (with handwritten notes) from Jackie Kennedy in response to a note of condolence following the death of Bobby Kennedy in 1968: "I was so touch by your letter. It means so much at this sad time. You know how much I thank you - you always understood Bobby - With my love, Jackie." Signature is clear and strong in blue ink. The lot also includes a handwritten note from journalist/editor Ben Bradlee on "Washington Post" letterhead. The note reads simply, "Right-goddam-on." The third letter is a one-page TLS from William F. Buckley, Jr. on "National Review" letterhead. The letter reads: "You are a hell of a good sport, and though I shall undoubtedly pay for it in purgatory, I love you dearly." The fourth letter is a one-page TLS from F.B.I. Special Agent in Charge, Percy Wyly, thanking Fritchey for his publication's assistance in apprehending a suspect (Roy Frank Bodbey) in 1949. Signature is clear in green ink. The final letter is a one-page TLS from J. Edgar Hoover thanking Fritchey for an editorial published in "New Orleans Item" in 1950. Signature is clear and strong in blue ink.
