About the Author

Mike Harris has been covering Virginia Tech athletics for the past six years as an assistant sports editor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch. He�s also covered a wide variety of sports, including two Olympics, the Daytona 500, the World Series, the Final Four, and much more. His entire professional career has been spent in the town of Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978 and started work at The Richmond News Leader, joining the Times-Dispatch when the papers merged in 1992.

Harris and his wife, Sue, a teacher, have two children and three dogs. When not working, they enjoy traveling to watch the Washington Nationals and spending time in New York.
