In it, she collaborates with Southern Gospel legend Rodney Griffin to create a powerful message about the electrifying encouragement of hope. Each of the 15 easy-read chapters in God Wants To Hear You Sing! tells the true story of someone who faced challenging and difficult circumstances. The book covers an assortment of hardships, from failure, job loss, betrayal and disappointment to sickness, the death of a dream and even the death of a loved one. Yet with each trying circumstance comes a song with a message of hope and optimism, providing courage even in one of life's valleys.
About the Author
The author of eleven books, Ruthie grew up on a 17-acre fruit farm in eastern Oregon, and to this day, almost nothing beats the excitement of buying Bing cherries at a roadside fruit stand. She's also known throughout her adopted hometown of Hiawassee, Georgia, for her knock-'em-dead brownies . . . and for tasting food off of strangers' plates. She holds a BS/RN in Nursing from Walla Walla University, and a Masters in Education. She has travelled extensively, speaking with high school and college students about character development and taking them on trips around the world, to places like Fiji, England, India, Poland, Iceland, Guyana and across North America. The kids affectionately call her "Auntie Ruthie." For six years she hosted a weekly television program on Sky Angel Network, has written numerous articles for nursing journals, and contributed to the book Medication Errors. She is a member of the National Prayer Committee, as well as the Executive Committee of the Denominational Prayer Leaders' Network.
