GROVER CLEVELAND (1837-1908). Grover Cleveland was the Twenty-Second and Twenty-Fourth Presidents. PS. 10 x 14. 1892. New York, New York. A sepia photograph signed Grover Cleveland the year before his second term began. During the 1892 election, he was campaigning for keeping the gold standard, in turn opposing the free silver movement, wanted a reform on tariffs, and opposed the Force Bill, which was legislation that worked to protect African American voting rights. With his victory, he became the first of two presidents to serve two non-consecutive terms. The photo shows Cleveland sitting down and looking off to the side. This photograph is in fine condition with a dark signature and light surface faults; it was professionally framed.
