Dust jacket toned and soiled; 1cm deep chip at spine heel with several other smaller chips and nicks at edges; tear at lower rear flap fold; front flap is not price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Slight dings at front board's top edge and rear board's bottom edge. Light toning to top edge. Four ink signatures - [Governor] John Bell Williams, [editorial board member] William D. McCain, [University of Southern Mississippi historian and contributor to Vol. II] John Ray Skates, and [Governor] William Winter - on front free endpaper; editor's ink signature "R.A. Dust jacket toned and lightly soiled with nicks and a few short tears at edges; stray ink marks at front panel's upper center and lower spine; short slender surface scuff at rear panel's top center; front flap is not price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Light toning to top edge. Ink signature of Volume I index compiler Laura D.S. Harrell near top of half-title page.
