With illustrations on steel and wood by the most eminent artists (London: Cassell, Petter & Galpin 1876-1879), Bd. 1-5. Untere rechte Ecke angeknickt. Sonst aber guter Zustand.E. Joubert (1875 - 1879). Französischer Kupfer- und Stahlstecher.Carl Werner (1808 Weimar - 1894 Leipzig). Eigentlich Carl Friedrich Heinrich Werner. Deutscher Architektur- und Landschaftsmaler und Lithograf. Studium zuerst bei Hans Veit Schnorr von Carolsfeld an der Leipziger Akademie, seit 1829 Architektur bei Freiherr von Gärtner in München. 1831 ging Werner zur Malerei über. Nach Einsendung einiger Studien zur Ausstellung nach Dresden 1832 erlangte er das große Reisestipendium für Italien. Seit 1845 Mitglied des Deutschen Künstlerverbandes, dessen 1. Präsident er wurde. Gründete 1851 ein Meisteratelier für Aquarellmalerei in Venedig. 1856 kehrte Werner nach Deutschland zurück und ließ sich in Leipzig nieder, wo er 1882 das Lehrfach für Aquarellmalerei an der dortigen Akademie übernahm.
