Within the Heart and Soul

The evolution of poetry over fifty plus years of writing by Roger C. Bull. His George Plimpton life, with varied experiences in many careers and hobbies, provided him with resources and muses for his work.

Roger Bull began writing poetry in 1957, "Bobby Socks Rock," a song that follows the tune of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock."  His last poem is a more mature expression of contemporary values.
Roger is a George Plimpton of sorts. He is college educated in three universities with studies in biology, chemistry, physics, advanced law enforcement, criminology, psychology, sociology, supervision and management. He is self-taught in electronics and computers, having constructed his first digital microcomputer from chip level, two years before Apple offered their first commercial model. He spent nearly ten years in law enforcement, leaving with the rank of sergeant. His work in law enforcement, computers, electronics, community and public relations and the telecommunications industry has provided him with multiple experiences from which to write his poetry.
