An original lithographic crayon drawing by Hellmuth Weissenborn (1898 - 1982) on white laid paper, 180 mm x 250 mm. Signed in pencil and dated 1942. German born Hellmuth Weissenborn fled Germany in 1939 for Britain, where he was interned on the Isle Of Man with other prominent artists and musicians including Kurt Schwitters, who became a close friend. Weissenborn was released from internment in 1940. This wartime drawing is dated 1942, a period when he was making dramatic linocuts of bombed London, which are now in the Imperial War Museum. Mounted with conservation board and framed. Excellent original condition.
