About the Author
A celebrated storyteller, Mary Cook has been delighting Canadian audiences for years with her remembrances of growing up on the family farm during the bittersweet years of the 1930s. She is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines across the country, and is the author of ten best-selling books, including Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire, Another Place at the Table and A Bubble off Plumb. Mary has received seven Actra awards for excellence in broadcast journalism, during an illustrious career that began 50 years ago with the CBC in Windsor, Ontario, and spanned 25 years in Ottawa. Most recently, she has been a regular guest on CBC's 'Fresh Air,' recorded in Toronto. By the time this book has gone to press, Mary will have launched a regular segment on Valley Heritage Radio in Renfrew, Ontario.
