Interesting and idiosyncratic musings on the game, with chapters on crowds, the off-side rule, Sir Frederick Wall, the 1944 Cup Final (south), war-time matches, club colours, and a section on each of the main "clubs of the South". The author was an amateur player and a Director of Brighton & Hove Albion. First edition. 8vo. 145pp + [2] Portrait frontis (of the author), 3 plates, cartoons in the text by Reg Carter. Owner's name and address to pastedown. Dust-wrapper, lightly rubbed. Very good condition. Presentation signed copy from the author, dated 1944. [Seddon, A67].
