He was incredibly influential during his life, up to the First World War, including influencing the founders of the National Trust.Illustrated with twenty-eight plates.Collated, complete.A paper by James Walker on just intonation, originally read before the Aberdeen Philosophical Society on the 7th March 1876.An interesting work on the tuning of musical intervals as whole number ratios of frequencies in both song and speech. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light marks to the boards and spine. Small crack to the tail of the rear joint. Light rubbing to the spine and extremities. Author's inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound.
