Synopsis
Through all the years past, never far from my thoughts was a story that needed to be told of John D. Rockefeller, his life and times in Ormond, Florida, at The Casements. Today, this dream becomes a reality. Many, many words have been written about Mr. Rockefeller. However, far too few have been written about his time in Ormond, the people he met, the places he went and the things he did in the place he chose to live his last years. Too, this book tells the story of The Casements after JDR; its owners, its disrepair and its resurrection by the City of Ormond Beach into the jewel it has become in 2010.
About the Author
In 2004/2005 I came to The Casements as a docent. During that time I was impressed with the history I found here......the history of the house, its most famous resident and the City of Ormond Beach's desire to preserve, restore and renovate The Casements. After only a year here, opportunities and duties took me away from The Casements for a time. As a docent and later as staff in the Education Department at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, my time was in short supply. Also, during this period my husband and I began the journey of writing books. To date, we have written 5 books explaining the historic people, places and events of our local area.
