In ten words and ten illustrations, Rottner concisely summarizes the process of bookbinding with the help of an anthropomorphic gorilla as bookbinder. The last page of the story concludes with a note about the important of animal conservation: "In truth, large apes could likely not operate professional bookbinding machinery without human assistance. The same, quite unfairly, is true of their continued survival. Support conservation."
