Jh.). Deutscher Lithograf in Dresden. Tätig unter anderem für Sachsens Kirchen-Galerie.Wilhelm Wegener (1812 Dresden - 1879 Gruna bei Dresden). Eigentlich Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Wegener. Deutscher Tier- und Landschaftsmaler der Romantik. Schüler der Kunstakademien Kopenhagen und Dresden bei Johan Christian Clausen Dahl und Christian Vogel von Vogelstein. Verdiente seinen Lebensunterhalt vorerst als Lithograf, bevor er 1860 zum sächsischen Hofmaler ernannt wurde. Rechts unterhalb der Darstellung signiert Steindr. v. I. H.
