Finding himself at a spiritual crossroads, author Nathaniel Huntting Sherrill, a writer, speaker, book designer, and independent Christian publisher, was compelled to make a five-year, full time devotional study of the Gospels. Sherrill realized there was a great need in mainstream Christian education for a devotionally oriented book that celebrated and demonstrated the Gospels as accurate histories of Christ's life, teaching, and ministry. The result of this research is The Layman's Gospel Harmony (the book) and The Layman's Gospel Harmony Chart, a revolutionary wall chart display of the four harmonized Gospels on a unified chronological time line. He serves on the Adult Christian Formation committee of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Westlake Village, California, lectures on his gospel research, and is developing additional projects intended to promote gospel literacy in the global Christian community.

Thompson has been a Pastor for over 30 years, with advanced degrees from Fuller Seminary and San Franciso Theological Seminary. Steven B. Miller, Associate Pastor for Discipleship, has advanced degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Fuller Seminary.
