Signed "Roland Clark" on inside front cover. There's a vast body of research indicating grizzly bears are trying to get along with their human neighbors. The author uses trademark wit and humor to both entertain and teach about a mostly unknown side of the most powerful carnivores on earth, demonstrating an advanced understanding of bear etiquette and a clear willingness to travel and recreate within the great beasts' living room, following rules they, too, can understand. Roland Cheek (1938?2021) was a renowned Montana outfitter, guide, and author best known for his three decades of experience in the Bob Marshall Wilderness ("The Bob"). He operated Skyline Outfit with his wife, Jane, leading rugged, horseback backcountry trips and later became a prolific author and storyteller, documenting his life in the Northern Rockies. Please see our other hunting, fishing, and natural history titles.
