Autograph letter and typed letter signed "Rudolph Bing" to New York Mayor John Lindsay; June 13 and September 29, 1971. Two pages, 12mo., on Metropolitan Opera letterhead; approximately 150 words. "Dear John - is it entirely a matter of years? I am very fit and - I think - still good for a few more years of fights. I have done it now 20 years! Doesn't seem to make sense? May I see you one of these days for five minutes." A wonderful unpublished correspondence.
