Bookseller accession no: 12006. Stefansson, 1879-1962, was an Icelandic-Canadian explorer and ethnologist. Gould, 1896-1995, was a geologist and fellow polar explorer who later became president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; he also had an ice-class research vessel named after him.
