Marcelo Fabbri is a contemporary Florentine poet who enjoys a
distinguished reputation in Italy. In 1978 Fabbri published his first
book of poetry,
Il Pane di Sasso (Stone Bread). Since then he has won
numerous przes for his poetry and prose and has published several
other books, the most well known of which is his book of poetry
entitled
Il Sole Sulla Scala (The Sun On The Stairs).
The Light of
Memory is the first book of his poetry in English.
Jeanne R. Bonaca is an Associate Professor of English at Hartford College for Women of the University of Hartford, CT where, in addition to courses in composition and literature, she teaches creative writing. She has worked together with Marcello Fabbri in the translation of his poetry from Italian into English. The Light of Memory is her first book of translation.
