Synopsis
Loner Vec Savant never wanted to disrupt his own quiet routine, much less change the world. Write a little interesting search engine code, have a little fun, maybe poke management in the eye, see what happened. All good. Then before he knew it, his little search engine project had steamrolled his life...and for the rest of the world, that was just the beginning. -o-0-o- When you take a position on religion, theology, or philosophy, you are likely to offend some people. The Living Mind is a Christian novel that goes straight after all three subjects and takes strong positions on controversial topics every step of the way, hence it will definitely offend a LOT of folks Non-Christians will be offended by its direct challenge to their world view. Some Christians will be offended that it is not "their" flavor of Christianity. Others will be offended because that is what they are good at. And that is as it should be. As Winston Churchill said, “You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.” Why should YOU read this novel? Because you find the world of ideas far more fascinating than the world of things? Because you believe in God? Because you don't? Because you like to believe in six impossible things before breakfast? Maybe all those. Anyhow, I hope people of all faiths (and no faith at all) will find a few ideas that challenge what they think they know.. "… how it is that anything so remarkable as a state of consciousness comes about as the result of irritating nervous tissue, is just as unaccountable as the appearance of the Djin when Aladdin rubbed his lamp." - T.H. Huxley
About the Author
Hi, I'm Alan Scott, a Christian writer from the West coast, now living in Boise, Idaho (which is most assuredly NOT the West Coast). I've been a professional writer for over 30 years, but this is my first fiction novel. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it. If you are interested in consciousness, self-awareness, and the soul, I am sure you will!
