The author and designer has spent her entire 14-year career teaching in inner city public schools. She currently teaches at a public middle school in the South Bronx and has become an experienced mediator of interfaith and intercultural conflicts. Her gentle, non-polemical prose brings a fresh and important perspective to what many in our culture are calling "the clash of civilizations."
